The Central Coast Crisis House is a cooperative effort between Turning Point of Central California, Inc., and Tri-Counties Regional Center. The Central Coast Crisis House is available to clients of Regional Centers who are generally between the ages of 7 and 17.
The Crisis House is a 2-bed program for children with intellectual disabilities. It is located in a residential neighborhood in the town of Atascadero. Turning Point provides a direct care staffing ratio of 1:1.

The goal of the program is to provide a short-term intense supports, in a residential setting, for children who present severe behavior challenges. The objective is to avoid placement in the State Development Center or a psychiatric hospitalization. The program determines the best way to deliver skills so the challenges become less restrictive to the child’s environment. The program assists the child in stabilizing their behavior so they can live in a less intensive environment.
