Porterville Home



A cooperative effort between Turning Point of Central California, Inc., Porterville Developmental Center, and Central Valley Regional Center, the Turning Point-Porterville Home is available to clients of Regional Centers who are generally between the ages of 7 and 17. The Porterville Home is a 4-bed specialized treatment facility for children with complex mental/emotional/physical health issues whose crisis needs have been stabilized. It is located in a residential neighborhood in the town of Porterville. Porterville Developmental Center and Turning Point provide a direct care staffing ratio of 1:1 during the time when clients are awake.

Program Philosophy
The goal of the program is to provide a temporary intensive service residential setting for children who present severe behavior problems. The objective is to avoid placement in the State Developmental Center. The program stabilizes behavior so participants can be returned to a setting with less intensive supervision and services within 60 days.
