MONTEREY COUNTY ADULT EMPLOYMENT

WHO WE ARE

Turning Point contracts with the Workforce Investment Board through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), United Way of Monterey County, and receives other grants and donations to provide employment development for adult ex-offenders.

Program
The program components consist of pre-vocational services, on-the-job training, job placement and follow-up services. Eligibility requires that an individual be currently incarcerated or an ex-offender, be 18 years of age or older, and income eligible.

Services
The program provides comprehensive services:

  • Assessment

  • Information and referral

  • Career counseling

  • Job development and placement

  • Employment workshops and job clubs

  • Résumé development

  • Interviewing and application preparation

  • Counseling

  • Pre-vocational services

  • Funded on-the-job training

Referrals
Interested persons can contact the Monterey County Adult Employment Program in person or by phone for an orientation and intake interview. The program is funded by The United Way and The Workforce Investment Board. This WIA Title I financially assisted program or is an equal opportunity employer/program.
