Enhanced Support at Turning Point goes above and beyond typical care home requirements. It includes a comprehensive skill-development curriculum, "Teaching Independence: A prompt hierarchy strategy guide," tailored to each client's needs. This program focuses on daily living skills, such as hygiene, toileting, dressing, meal preparation, and communication, using alternative communication devices when necessary. Additionally, the program includes targeted behavior reduction plans based on ABA principles, with individualized token economy systems and positive support behavior plans. Data collection and regular reviews ensure the effectiveness of these plans. This enhanced training program ensures clients receive superior, individualized care and support.

Transition planning at Turning Point begins upon admission, focusing on the client's next preferred placement, whether returning to family, moving to an Independent Living Situation (ILS), or a less restrictive out-of-home placement. Plans are tailored to the functional capacities required for each placement. For home transitions, mental health consultants work with families to support communication and adapt the environment. For ILS, planning includes self-regulation, money management, and life skills.
Tools like the Individualized Program Plan (IPP), Individual Service Plan (ISP), and Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) guide the process, addressing goals, barriers, and progress. Plans are regularly reviewed and adapted to meet evolving needs.
We invite you to consider our children’s home as a place where your child can find the support, care, and love they need to flourish. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please feel free to reach out to us.
