LEVELS OF SERVICE

  • Referrals may be made to the program and served per approval of the Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency. Walk-ins are welcome and we will help you contact Tulare County to establish eligibility.

  • The One Stop Clinics are community-based programs that serves youth (12-17) and transitional age youth (18-24) within underserved and unserved communities. Participants must be eligible for Medi-Cal and have a qualifying mental health diagnosis.

Charlie was 18 years old the day his foster mother walked him into the North County One Stop (NCOS) with just his Medi-Cal card, a schizoaffective diagnosis and a backpack. She told the receptionist that Charlie was 18 and he was no longer her problem. Then she left him. Without the help of the staff at NCOS, he was at risk of homelessness, incarceration and hospitalization. Shocked, the staff scrambled to secure housing for him. Over the next several months, Charlie was linked to a job and maintained housing with other TAY clients. He was provided with therapy, case management, medication management and life skills training. Charlie had to grow up very quickly. Charlie’s story was unique in that most clients that seek help from the One Stops have support from loved ones, but even without that, Charlie went on to become a self-advocate for his mental health care and has maintained housing and a warehouse job ever since. Whether you just need a place where people understand you or you need help with learning how to “adult,” our staff are here for you.
