WHO WE ARE

The Prairie House is a cooperative effort between Turning Point of Central California, Inc. and Tri-County Regional Center. The Prairie House is available to clients of Regional Centers who are generally between the ages of 7 and 17. The Prairie House is a 4-bed specialized treatment facility for children with developmental challenges. It is located in a residential neighborhood in the town of Paso Robles. Turning Point provides direct care staffing ratios higher than the typical “group home.”

Program Philosophy
Prairie House is considered to be what we have termed a “step-down” home. This home provides short-term support to children, ages 7 to 17 with complex developmental mental/emotional/physical health issues. The goal is for children to participate in developing a long-term support plan, and successfully implement the plan for up to eighteen months, enabling them to move to a family home living arrangement.
